TAKE WHAT YOU KNOW & MAKE IT CASH FLOW

4. How would I begin writing a book?
• Sixteen questions from an aspirant (16 chapters)
• Tape-record the session, type into word doc
• How to Books should be written how people speak
• Don’t hire an English teacher to edit your book.
5. To publish or not to publish?
Whether you decide to publish or not, putting your knowledge into a written format is
essential. You can then use this written format to create a consulting business, to organize
a workshop, launch a speaking career, or submit your manuscript to a publisher.
6. Publishing with a Traditional Publisher
• Usually Publisher maintains the intellectual property rights
• Books are brought to market 18 – 24 months
• Average of 4% to 15% Royalty, average advance of $1,500
• Can be difficult to get accepted
7. Morgan James (Entrepreneurial Publisher – author must buy book quantity) author
keeps intellectual property rights, and gets 20% royalty. Remember that your book
is your calling card, and you will want author copies.
• Write a Book Proposal (A) To sell the idea to a publisher before it’s written.
(B) To sell the book to a publisher after it’s written.
• Write a query letter
• Write to literary agents
1• Write to the publishers (Literary bible in bookstores)
• Look at books in your genre and write to the publishers of those books.
• Approx. 80% of all books sold are sold on Amazon.com
8. Self Publishing
• Self Publish under name of self publisher (for example) Dog Ear Publishing
They offer marketing packages and place you on the online bookstores.
• Publish under imprint
• E-books (recommend Adobe Acrobat PDF)
Include many links to go to your website
Set whether they can print or copy and paste
Set a pass code on the document to open

9. EASY WEBSITE
Use a template so you can manage it and not have to pay an expensive web-designer. Add
sales, updates, articles etc. very simply and timely because you do it yourself. For about
$79 buy a template at FLEXXTHEME.COM and you can create unlimited websites with this
one template. Yes, there are free templates out there, but be aware of looking cheap, and
also sponsor links on the site may hurt your Google ranking. At FIVERR.COM you can get
a banner for your website created for just $5.
10. How to organize a live workshop?
• Power Point Presentation (break your written information into headings and
points)
• Handouts
• Location for example (Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors Training
Facility - $250 holds about 40 people)
• Market the workshop--fill the seats
